Embrace Pet Insurance offers coverage on cats and dogs, including prescription drug and dental plans, cancer and ER treatment and coverage of genetic and breed specific conditions in all 50 state and the District of Columbia. Embrace was founded in 2003 by pet lovers Laura Bennett and Alex Krooglik after they graduated from the prestigious Wharton MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania. The company received funding from Jumpstart in 2004, launched an ecommerce site in 2007 and entered into a partnership with Progressive Insurance that same year. Embrace reaches many pet owners through the Internet with an extensive web site that includes health and wellness information for pet owners and a community site that features info on pet adoptions, pet products and dollar saving deals. Embrace has a 21-member team including the administrative team, a marketing director, veterinary consultant, veterinary clinic specialist and customer care and claims specialists.
