Hence, Monarch Teaching Technologies' VizZle. Just a year into the commercial sale of VizZle (it stands for visual learning), sales are strong and the product has garnered a passel of awards. VizZle allows teachers to personalize lessons and contribute -- and draw from -- an online toolbox with visual supports. The company reports that between 400 and 500 individuals are using VizZle outside the school where it was piloted as a way to reach students who communicate and learn visually. The company, founded in 2005, had grown to 14 employees by early 2010.
