Forty-seven Akron Public School graduates will receive the University of Akron’s (UA) first Innovation Generation Scholarships this fall. UA is awarding the full-tuition scholarships to high-achieving Akron students in exchange for the district’s oldest high school building.

Free panel discussion on "first to file" and patent law changes

On July 25, the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network will host a panel discussion covering major aspects of the first-to-file system and how it differs from the previous patent process. Panelists will discuss how this reform will affect entrepreneurs and their technology, and how it might change the way startups, universities and other innovation hubs will conduct business. This free program runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
